What began as a Labor Day bonfire to celebrate the end of Summer led to a three-night camp-out with two sister friends; one an avid camper, the other a novice. The experience was not only relaxing and fun but also empowering and rejuvenating. Realizing that most Black Women do not camp, Black Girls Camp (BGC) was founded as a means of introducing camping in a new way.
Black Girls Camp exists to bring awareness to black women who love the outdoors, We are committed to educating black women on the benefits of being outdoors and how to do so safely.
