After a camping trip to Cincinnati during Founders Weekend of Black Girls Camp, LaShawn wanted to curate the same energy and safe space in the outdoors for women in and surrounding the Columbus, Ohio area. As a military veteran, LaShawn has spent her share of time in the outdoors. LaShawn recruited her friend and cohort, Trina to assist in the planning, execution and management of the Columbus Chapter of Black Girls Camp.
Feel free to connect with our Chapter as we explore The Great Outdoors!

The big day may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we’re always up to something new and exciting.
It’s fall and we’re outside! Join us for our fall campout, THE FALLOUT! We know it’s getting chilly out so we’ve selected sites with shared access to electricity. If you require unlimited access to electricity, it is suggested you bring your own power source. Access to water will be limited. Plan ahead and bring water for use throughout the campout. Registration includes tent space, wood for community fire pit and nightly night cap, BGC style!

Black Girls Camp is a Non-Profit Business. All funds that we take in goes back into the business. Your support allows us to continue offering activities and events to bring awareness to Black Women outdoors and brown faces in green spaces.
Black Girls Camp is an avenue of respite and relaxations for Black Women who enjoy camping and the outdoors. While we understand that everything isn't for everyone, negativity WILL NOT be tolerated.
We expect all members and attendees to be responsible and accountable.
Please do not engage in any activity that could bring potential harm to yourself or one of your BGC sisters. If you are unsure, PLEASE ASK someone for assistance. If you choose to have an adult beverage, please do so responsibly. Uncontrollable behavior is unacceptable. If you are not staying overnight, BGC requires you wait 1hr before driving.
As women, we are often caring for others before ourselves. BGC believes in and promotes SELF CARE. If you need to rest, rest. If you need a nap, take one. If you want to do nothing, do nothing. Above all else, DO NOT NEGLECT PERSONAL HYGIENE.
Just be classy. Need we say more?
Commit to building on your personal strengths and developing your weaknesses. YOU ARE enough!
If you find fault with a BGC sister, go to her or to one of the BGC Members Coordinator.
